El papel de la neuroplasticidad en las enfermedades neurodegenerativas

Actualmente las enfermedades neurodegenerativas más comunes son Alzheimer, Parkinson, Huntington y Esclerosis lateral amiotrófica, afectan cerca de un 15% de la población global. La neuroplasticidad es la capacidad del cerebro de transformarse cuando se expone a diversos estímulos. El presente estudio consta en una revisión narrativa de tipo cualitativo en donde se recopilaron y sintetizaron artículos no mayores a 5 años, los resultados mostraron que la neuroplasticidad actúa con mayor eficacia en los estadios tempranos, sin embargo, conforme a degeneración progresa, la neuroplasticidad es incapaz de compensar el daño.
